Services

Most conditions and needs are catered for, including but not limited to:

Neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), stroke, Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS), and acquired brain injury (ABI) can all benefit from rehabilitation by a skilled Physiotherapist. Rehabilitation is a slow process of neural adaptation which often involves environment modification, conditioning, stretching programs for spasticity, and/or hydrotherapy to increase or maintain independence. Physiotherapy at home provides a customised physio treatment program specific to their environment and equipment, as well as removes the difficulty and cost accessing the community.

Recovery from Orthopaedic conditions such as a fracture, dislocation or pre and post-surgery management (eg: a total knee replacement (TKR), total hip replacement (THR), shoulder and spinal surgery) is quicker with timely Physiotherapy home visits and reduced strain on the body. Regain your baseline level of mobility and function with an individualised guided exercise routine and education. Wean off walking aids, regain strength, balance and range of motion sooner.

Functional mobility and balance rehabilitation can be very effective in quickly regaining strength, endurance, walking quality and balance. This can be following a change in a persons’ ability to move caused by recent illness or movement restrictions, hospital admission, loss of confidence following a fall, problems with the inner ear, chronic disease or general inactivity to name a few. Individualised programs of targeted exercise, education, goal setting, walking aid and/or suitable assistive device prescription are often required on a temporary basis.

Cardiac rehabilitation involves close monitoring of specific home exercise programs for those preparing for or having had cardiac surgery. These can include bypass surgery, angioplasty, stents and heart valve replacements. Clients who have had other heart conditions can benefit from Physiotherapy; they include people who have experienced a heart attack, heart failure, peripheral artery disease, chest pain and cardiomyopathy.

Treatment and management of chronic Respiratory conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), Bronchiectasis, Emphysema, Asthma and COPD is extremely effective with Physiotherapy at home. Clients can get assistance with airway clearance, individualised exercise programs, education on inhaler use and advice on self-management techniques.
